This dish has a blue-scale ground and a fluted, lobed body. The center panel depicts three butterflies in various color combinations. Surrounding the center scene are reserve panels containing floral sprays. The extensive use of gilt and elaborate Rococo borders of this piece are possibly due to the rise of the Sèvres French manufactory as a decorative source for Worcester during the 1760s and 1770s.
